Not that I'm defending Obama, but before computers were used for record keeping, everything was either hand-written or hand typed, so if the clerk doing the typing had any inclination to put an alternate name in for things like an obscure African country, he may have done so and no one would have thought twice about it. While "Kenya" may not have been the official name of the country until 1963, it's likely the name preexisted that date in at least some informal manner and was generally respected. It's unlikely that in selecting the name of the country in 1963, they would have chosen something completely random. Doubtless, "Kenya" was chosen for a reason. Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me in the least that the birth cert is a fake and Obama was born in Africa. You should recall Trump was the main person demanding Obama's BC. No one has asked him lately whether he thinks the Obama BC actually is legit. As for legality, I think the courts would decide that actions of any prez were presumptively legal as long as the supposed-but-fake prez was regarded as a legitimate and legally elected president at the time of the laws being passed. They might get harsher if a fake prez got chased out of office with evidence that they had been the agent of a foreign power while in office (treason). At some point in time, a real effort needs to be made to establish that to be President, and many other offices, you should be a legitimate citizen of the US. Either by Statute, or Constitutional Amendment. No chance for divided loyalties. It should be done in an iron clad manner, with no room for weaselly lawyerly twisted interpretations. If not, this will all be repeated again. However, it may all be academic, as it does not appear the nation will last much longer. If Obama's father and mother were two illegal aliens, and the father's race was listed as African, and baby Obama was born in Hawaii, he was a natural born U.S. citizen. If his father felt like saying he was born in Kenya rather than what it was called before it was called Kenya, so what?
