Title: Trump Leads in New Zogby Poll

Riding a wave of non-stop publicity, a new poll this past week shows mogul Donald Trump solidly in first place among likely Republican primary and caucus voters nationwide. The new Zogby Analytics poll of 256 likely voters was conducted online July 22-23 shows Mr. Trump leading with the support of 20% of those polled.

He is followed by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush with 16%, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker 12%, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul 9%, neurosurgeon and author Dr. Ben Carson 7%, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee 6% each, Texas Senator Ted Cruz 5%, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie 3%, Ohio Governor John Kasich and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal 2%, and everyone else at 1% or less.

If dominating the airwaves is the name of the game, then Mr. Trump has got game. Mr. Bush leads among men with 21% to 17% for Mr. Paul, 16% for Mr. Walker, and 12% for Mr. Trump. But Mr. Trump has a huge lead among women — 26% to 10% for Mr. Bush and 7% for Mr. Walker.

Mr. Bush holds a five point margin over Mr. Trump among Republicans –21% to 16%, with Mr. Walker at 10%. But Mr. Trump is garnering almost one in three self-identified independents (31%) to 15% for Mr. Walker and 13% for Mr. Bush. Mr. Trump also leads among conservatives 18% to 16% each for Mr. Bush and Mr. Walker – but with a campaign and persona hardly known for its moderation, Mr. Trump holds an eight point margin over Mr. Bush among moderates (28%-20%), with 12% for Mr. Rubio.

Mr. Paul continues to do best among 18-29 year old likely GOP primary and caucus voters with 26%, while Mr. Bush and Mr. Trump score 14% each.

The entire poll was taken after the announcement by Ohio Governor John Kasich, but Mr. Kasich gained no publicity nor increased support as a result.

Absolute proof the nation is sliding down the toilet bowl.

Being still followed by poisonness former Florida Governor Jeb Bush with 16%, I can believe it. The degenerate Bush family continues to attract low IQ suckers.

Now go back to the important crap like the weekend music thread where the only thinking you need to do is tap your foot.

Why is Ted Cruz so low in the polls? He has a great message.

Cruz has a horrible personality. He comes off as a used car salesman. This is not a statement on his message - just on how he talks and grandstands. He is also humorless - Reagan was fun to listen to. So is Trump. Cruz is boring.

Yeah. You're right. We want a "fun" President.

Considering the truth of any matter is 180 degrees from whatever position YOU and Willie take, thank you for being the moral and ethics anti-Compass.

I am sorry the truth upsets you - it seems the American people find Cruz unappealing and I assume it is his speaking style that is turning people off. He is not very photogenic either.

Why is Ted Cruz so low in the polls? He has a great message.

Which brings up a question maybe someone who follows the culture-smog can answer for me: Have the present day "unbiased" news sources (like "The Daily Show" or morning shock-jock radio) been doing a number on Cruz?

I don't follow that crap so I really don't know.

The reason I ask is that a very close family member (a Millenial) literally becomes sick to her stomach at the mere mention of Ted Cruz.

And I suspect he elicits that same reaction from most Millenials. Since Millenials get their news mostly from John Stewart or The Daily Zoo radio, I wondered if Cruz has been on their radar. Which (no matter what his message) means he will never become POTUS.

Having watched the amazing video in which Cruz bravely committed political suicide (by calling the Turtle a liar on the Senate floor), I challenged this family member to go to You-Tube and watch the video. But I doubt she will.

Yes, Cruz looks funny, does not have a pleasant voice, and comes across as humorless. (Of course if he were a culture smog darling, he' be considered "serious").

Nice meme.

The "truth" and in broad daylight is what Cruz speaks. Clearly and sincerely. Not in platitudes and PC ambiguity. I assume THIS style turns off Leftists, GOPe tools, and uni-Party globalist groupies.

He is not very photogenic either.

What? Cruz lacks enough of a "package" for you?

Good question. Yes, I would say very possibly. These idiots live on social media so their collective brainwashing goes viral.

Having watched the amazing video in which Cruz bravely committed political suicide (by calling the Turtle a liar on the Senate floor), I challenged this family member to go to You-Tube and watch the video. But I doubt she will.

Well...no other US Senator is willing to step out and attack the GOPe PTB. At least Cruz said what needed to be said. (And yes, he risked far more than Trump as a member of the US Senate." )

Btw -- your Lefty family member -- these people are heavily hypnotized. Doubtful they can see the light. EVEN if one inch away from the surface of the sun.

Yeah, she's 28 now. When she was growing up, she never seemed much interested in politics. I still think she doesn't follow it all that closely, so I was surprised a few months ago when she mentioned Cruz in a Facebook post.

Mentioned him not in a positive way of course.

Like I said, I challenged her to watch the YouTube Ted Cruz video. I wish she would, then we could have an intelligent discussion.

But I doubt it will happen.

(She did mention she likes Sanders. My only response to that was "well it just shows there is discontent on both the Left and the Right - and left it at that)

Cruz is a "loose cannon." Nobody trusts him regardless of whatever his "message" may be.

Maybe you are not that smart, I don't know, Lib - I am offering a dispassionate analysis of why Cruz is behind in the pols. This is not my personal opinion on Cruz's politics. I clearly stated that.

It is up to you to come up with an alternate explanation as to why Cruz has low to single digit numbers in the polls.

Loose cannon Trump is slamming the competition so I don't think that is it.

But Trump is memorable and fun to listen to - I don't see people waiting in line to hear a Cruz speech.

I was all ready to ridicule this (in an election where Xlinton is a candidate, "trust" is all of a sudden an issue??), but then it struck me you may actually be onto something.

Loose cannon. Let's take a look at that.

No matter how far Left (Sanders, Emperor Zero) or how far Right (Santorum, Huckabee) a candidate "seems", they can reliably be counted on to do the PTB's bidding. Nothing in their political backgrounds suggest otherwise.

So in that regard, Cruz is indeed a "loose cannon" (as his Senate Floor speech shows.)

And that is why he'll never be POTUS.

Thank you for your sound political insight, Willie.

Kennedy is said to have won the TV debate over Nixon while losing the radio debate. Same debate but in the TV one he looked better and people deemed he had won.

What was that line from the movie Back To The Future when Doc from the 50s found out Reagan the actor was president? Dr. Emmett Brown: [holding Marty's video camera] No wonder your president has to be an actor. He's gotta look good on television.
