Here’s The Story of The McKinney Pool Fiasco

The Origin – The woman who organized the event in McKinney, Texas is named Tatiana Rhodes (or Tatyana Rhodes). She is approximately 19-years-old; however, she retains a fake id and has began scrubbing most of her social media accounts, so her exact age is undetermined. Update: confirmed profile DOB 04/02/1995, so Tatiana Rhodes is 20.

Tatiana had been promoting a party via twitter under the hashtag name “Dime Piece Cookout” for approximately a month. She planned the event at a sub-division called “Craig Ranch” in McKinney Texas.

Tatiana (pictured below left) lives in the sub-division with her mother Lashana Burkes (pictured right). Both appear to be natives of Chicago.

The Craig Ranch subdivision has a neighborhood park and a gated pool and clubhouse for residents. The pool and clubhouse is gated and a scan card is needed to gain access.

The subdivision has a Homeowners Association (HOA) which regulates and controls the activities in/around the HOA swimming pool and clubhouse and has strict rules for use thereof.

Neither Tatiana Rhodes nor her mother sought permission to use the pool or clubhouse area as part of the event. However, Tatiana hired a DJ and promoted the event to include a pool party:

There are numerous social media links reflecting that Tatiana organizes these “parties”, and charges for attendance, as a profit generating business. Her enterprise name is promoted under the auspices of “Twinzzpromotions” and uses the email address twinnzzpromotions@gmail.com:

However, the specific event last Friday was advertised as “free attendance” where Tatiana was passing out flyers and selling tickets for another event she was setting up for June 19.

Tatiana appears to reference herself as a “promoter” for the various parties she organizes as part of twinzzpromotions:

Her business profile says:

“want to throw a party but don’t know where to start – we do it all. Email us for models, promoters, party planners and more”.

The party on Friday was to promote “Make It Clap 2", an event scheduled for June 19th (8pm to 1am) $5 advance Tix, $8 at event.

Tickets for MakeItClappPt.2 were being sold at the Craig Ranch party. Here’s the flyer for the June 19th event that was being promoted and handed out on Friday:

The DJ (Andrew Cosby) also tweeted out before and during the Craig Ranch event that it was a pool party. DJReign aka Andrew Cosby is also now scrubbing media and hiding his profiles.

Pictured above, Tatiana and her mother Lashana Burkes setting up for the party, while tweeting out #dpcookout so far so good.

In addition to friends of Tatiana Rhodes, more than 100 additional people, mostly teens, showed up as a result of the advertising promoted by Tatiana on social media. They were dropped off by the car-load as the afternoon party began.

I see reports that Tatiana and her homies were charging $15 a person for admittance to the party. So these kids were mad that that they showed up and then were told they had to pay $15 to attend a (unauthorized) party that they were getting tossed out of. Some of the kids, invited to the party on social media, didn't have the $15 so they started jumping the fences.

Tatiana should be forced to refund those admissions and she and her mother should be fined and expelled from this housing development.

I liked the part of the video where that kid in the turquoise cap that was taunting the cop and ran off got chased down by that young cop that was 6'6" or so. We next see this young Traybon in the video, laying on the ground panting and in handcuffs. The cop didn't look like he even got his hair mussed. A physically fit cop takes down a mouthy punk trying to flee and makes it look easy.

A graphic of the punk (who is very lucky he didn't get shot):

I notice the cop is 20 lbs. overweight but still manages a ground roll when he trips and then lands on his feet. He knows how to mix it up in an action situation. Probably a football player when he was younger (and thinner).

This version of the vid shows the leadup to the incident.

I've noticed on all the other Mc Kinney threads that everybody seems to be ignoring what you posted as a "possible" way of explaining why the cop reacted the way he did.

And here I thought it was only the canary agenda posters who didn't want to know what the truth could be.

So I wonder why they didn't have this in their own neighborhood?? Oh wait never mind I just remembered everything would have been stolen and someone would have died, silly me.

It seems obvious that the cop reacted very directly to that kid who was physically taunting him from about 2' away. Very easy for the punk to pull a gun or knife at that distance. And that kid was very clearly trying to interfere with an arrest and should be charged for that.

From what I heard today some of the kids/adults there were telling some of the kids there to ignore what the cops were saying.

Also heard that the cop in question had just come from a double suicide scene and was still a bit shook up.

Don't know if either one I heard is true but there they are.

I didn't see the entire video until this posting of it. Now that I watched the entire clip, I can kind of understand what was happening and where the officer was coming from.

He looked a little wound up, but he was trying to control a crowd. As he was trying to get several teens to sit down and shut up, and a group of teens, mostly girls, were standing around when he asked/told them to leave. It is unknown the exact reason why he is telling them to leave, but it is obvious that they are causing some sort of problem.

He continues to tell them to leave, and then the bikini-clad teen continues to mouth off. I believe he was going to lead her to the others sitting down. Instead, she resists. Most rational people understand that once the police have their hands on you, it is in your best interest to do as they say. They may not be in the right, but they will use force.

As he uses her momentum of pulling away to push her to the ground, the teen in the blue is moving in from behind. No matter what his motive was, the teen was getting too close and the officer responded by escalating to show of force. Once the kid moved back and around, the officer then told another officer to pursue the running teen, then holsters while turning back to the girl.

In another thread by "nolu chan", the emphasis of the article that was posted was that he was detaining only black teens. A question that comes to my mind is: "If the one officer out of twelve responding happens to be covering an area that has only black teens around, wouldn't that be the only racial group that is detained by the officer, if any?" I do see that all of the teens that he is working with are black, but what is unknown is the total racial makeup of the group, and all around this officer is only black teens. One cannot say that he is only detaining black teens when they do not know if there were any white teens hanging around and causing a scene yet being ignored by the officer.

What I can determine is that is that if the teens were dispersing like the police instructed them to, especially since they were called because they wouldn't leave earlier, most of this would not have happened. They definitely did not help by hanging around and taunting the officer. I think the young lady may not have needed to be detained, but she could have also prevented the follow-on events.

This will be one of my very rare comments in support of an officers actions instead of normal excessive use of force claims that are much more warranted. Notice now that since no one was actually injured, the "excessive use of force" claims can trumpeted by those who usually cheer when the suspect "gets what comming to them"...

My surmise as well. The cop's lawyer says he had just come from an attempted suicide call and another where some guy killed himself with a gun. So maybe he was a little off-balance emotionally to respond to anything. Not an excuse but an explanation.

What I can determine is that is that if the teens were dispersing like the police instructed them to, especially since they were called because they wouldn't leave earlier, most of this would not have happened. Exactly so. The teens may have had a right to have their party but not to be jumping fences into the pool area and harassing legit residents who had paid their pool access fees.
