He’s back. After a two-season exile, the man who took the Broncos to the divisional round in 2011 before being summarily dumped for Peyton Manning will have a new job in the NFL. Per Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Tim Tebow will sign with the Eagles on Monday. (Yes, Glazer has the scoop, even though Tebow works for ESPN.) Traded to the Jets in March 2012, Tebow had a single, disastrous season in New York. Cut by the Jets, the Patriots gave him a look in the 2013 offseason, training camp, and preseason. Tebow didn’t make the 53-man roster, and he hasn’t been heard from again. The Eagles gave Tebow a workout on March 16, and they reportedly would be inclined to sign him only if Matt Barkley were traded. Barkley hasn’t been traded, and the connection never made sense; with 90 roster spots in the offseason and plenty of quarterbacks needed to distribute the ball during practice sessions. Tebow arrives with the opening of the offseason program in Philadelphia, rejoining Mark Sanchez and a depth chart that also includes Sam Bradford, Barkley, and G.J. Kinne. With Bradford still rehabbing a torn ACL suffered last August, Tebow becomes as a practical matter the fourth quarterback who is able to participate in practice session that will begin after a two-week lifting/conditioning period.

Exactly - and his resume speaks for itself. I think if he gets a fair chance, he's going to surprise a lot of people.
I want to disagree with you but I'm not so sure. The NFL stopped selling Aaron Hernandez jerseys but they sold out of their large stock of them and now they're going for $250 and up on eBay.
Remember what he did to the Jets while with the Broncos.
It is my opinion that doors closed to Tebow that would be open for other QBs in the league. We have had QBs work on a team an entire career without registering a playoff win. NFL team owners are businessmen. So I understand them striving and dealing to get the best QB to lead their offense. However, I don't understand their bad business decisions with Tebow. Most NFL fans are also College Football fans. Tebow was one of the best players in College football and SEC history. That is income for an NFL team whether they start Tebow, try to convert him to another position or have him as back up QB. The Eagles seem to know this is a good business and football decision. Tebow will be a solid #2 as he proved he can take a competitive team and lead them to the playoffs and into the playoffs. Your comparison to Mike Sam is way off. Sam was no "Tebow" of the defense. Tebow did not get drafted high because he was a Christian and did not lobby to be drafted because he was a Christian. Sam tried the gay thing to make his name known to a larger audience. Tebow did not have to do that as he was a proven champion in the VERY competitive SEC. Now let's analyze our society a bit. We have a QB who led his team to two national championships, presents a moral example parents would like their kids to emulate and to quote Dennis Miller "Tebow is the type of guy I want my daughter to marry." We have this champion example of a man and he happens to be a Christian. He is defined by our society as 'too divisive' and 'too controversial.' On the other hand we have more than a few NFL players each year suspended for domestic violence, drugs and one for murder. We have an average LB who no team would consider drafting other than ESPN and the liberal press trumping his homosexuality. Thus the homosexual lobby holding a loaded gun to GM's and owners heads. It took them a lot of PR work to take their message directly to the American people that Sam would get a look but was not draft quality. Yet one team did burn a draft pick seeking positive business exposure. Sam was cut. Draft pick wasted. Tebow's greatest success might be showing America how really down the road to hell her morals have gone. One final comment. I loved to watch RG III play for Baylor as they are not far from us. He too a Heismen winner turned out to be a top NLF draft pick. There were some who said of him "he's a runner more than a passer" but that was not mentioned much. Some said he is a balanced QB but physically won't be able to handle the hits of NFL defenders. Yet after two injuries and so so seasons no one is saying much.

Whether you want to admit it or not, Tebow has a certain amount of baggage he brings with him to any NFL franchise. Legions of fanbois. And legions of others who don't like him, maybe because he's a virgin, maybe because he prays, whatever. A QB of equal talent might have already found a club to call home, as you mention. But Tebow probably hasn't because he has all that baggage. And the NFL teams are going more in the direction of the Michael Sams than the Tim Tebows. I'm not sure why you expect anything more of the NFL. Were you under the impression they are Christian-friendly? I never thought so.
Having legions of intense fanbois despite rather modest records does make them comparable. Ever see how Teh Gheys drool on over Sam and obsess about him? I don't think that particular circus made him any more attractive to owners/coaches. They just don't want such a notorious young player. Admittedly, they did let Vicks come back after prison but he was money in the bank for his team, a proven major talent also with his own fanboi base.

Absolutely the case. EVERY NFL team is making money hand over fist, regardless. The collusion to blackball Tebow was more important...even more important than profit. The Left is more than willing to sacrifice profit (*cough MSNBC*) in exchange for advancing an agenda. In case you were wondering, the NFL has become a vehicle for political and social change. Tebow and his popularity were a deterrent to that goal. I think that if they thought he could win, he'd be their #1 QB. But they don't so he isn't. Instead, he's #4 QB on a so-so team. Depth charts mean nothing at this point. Frankly, I believe politics and the Left's agenda is going to dictate whether or not Tebow makes the team or plays -- NOT his skill level. We might be belaboring the point, but if someone on "our side" is incapable of understanding and discerning the respective proper difference between Tim Tebow and Michael Sam -- as well as the coverage respective accomplishments and reason for admiration -- the extent of the media's saturation propaganda campaign is wildly successful. Coach Kelley seems to travel to the beat of his own drummer and seems immune to media criticism (which was also one of the fears of coaches in playing Tebow....BUT curiously coaches aren't so much criticized by media for playing a bunch of thugs who beat wives and GF, rapists, and the drug-addled.)

I think they are going to try to get Bryce Petty (Baylor QB) in the draft this year, he's ranked 91 and the boys draft at 91 (3rd round). On the other hand they might go after Petty in the 2nd round (just to ensure they get him) since there a bunch of RBs available in the 3rd (which they need also). After that they will draft a PK/KR and a bunch of the best defenders available, in which order well I have no clue. Good run down. Love him or hate him, he put fans in the seats and brought viewers to the tube. His passing was another story. He missed open receivers repeatedly. For 55 minutes. Then he threw dimes for 5 minutes. They brought him in and interviewed him after his Pro Day about a month ago. Since he hasn't been running a pro offense in college it would take him a couple of years to get up to speed, just in time for Romo's retirement.

I was checking out the TV schedule for Bronco games. That 55/5 minute observation is spot on. Tebow was brutal for too much of a typical game. But too so was your observation that he didn't hurt the team by turning the ball over; it did help the "D" which played as though it were on a mission. Yup, "winning ugly" was definitely the case (although the last 5 minutes of a Broncos game was the most exciting 5 minutes in sports that year.) As a matter of fact, it's been noted that Tebow's style as a "running QB" has been resented by many pundits (and many ex-NFL players) -- both white AND black. They apparently feel threatened because that style has traditionally been considered the sole domain of a "black"-styled running QB. It's a style that pundits and experts have long routinely criticized as "un-winnable" for a pro NFL QB as opposed to a "pocket-passer" (usually used to describe the white "style" of QBing.) Tim Tebow made it work. Oooops. But what is NOT discussed is the component of his leadership and courage that's required. You didn't do the math. That was just to help make up for the Rush debacle, the owner wanted to be back in the good graces of the MSM. Which kinda surprises me that they cut him, but never fear "Media Whore Jerry" rode to the rescue and picked him up for awhile. The word hypocrisy is not a word in the Lefts dictionary when it comes to describing themselves. If you accurately describe them using words such as uncaring, apathetic or antipathy they will try to hang you up by your nutsack. The Left has such an aversion to the truth you know.
