A-Rod has become A-Bum. Is he finished?
A-Roid has played 120 out of 130 games he should be down at 110 or fewer, he is 40 and doesn't have as much energy anymore. Girardi needs to learn how to handle the "oldsters" better, to keep them more productive...
I used to do Ironman tournaments where you would play 9-15 games over the course of 2-3 days, once I turned about 36 or 37 I said "ENOUGH OF THAT CRAP"...
Let me see which pig "DON'T" I want to vote for, the one with or without lipstick??" Hmmmmm...
You know I'm kinda surprised they are calling Joey back up when Alberto can play 3rd if need be... He's still striking out too much bta this is the last year of Beltre's contract, next year is optional...
Let me see which pig "DON'T" I want to vote for, the one with or without lipstick??" Hmmmmm...
Joey should be going to the fall league to get more at bats. Maybe they think working with Magadan at batting practice and being around veterans will be instructional.

FWIW, I went to a friend's last week in Virginia. We went to the Nats' game last Tuesday night where they beat the Padres 8 - 3. Saw a grand slam homer by Zimmerman. That was a rarity.
Also, saw a bald eagle at the lake where he lives. I think that was a first too.
I used to be a baseball fan when I was in my teens. Those Nats' fans are pretty rabid - keeping box scores and all - I'm sure it's the same at all stadiums.
Got a garden gnome freebie of Anthony Rendon. I donated it to a shelf at my local tavern. Those $9 and $10 beer prices should be criminal though.
They won the game last night but used 5 pitchers to do it. Am beginning to wonder if he realizes just how many relievers he has in the bullpen??
Banny used 5 pitchers but three of the moves were NL double switch deals and not many pitches tossed other than Tolleson who got in some hot water in the 9th.
He needs a rest. Don't know why they can't alternate Tolly with Kela and Dyson to close out the games. Tolleson is smoked. He can't get his good pitches to work the past three outings. Plus he was in a non-save situation with a 4 run lead. It should have been Kela out there.
Plus remember...Our BP is larger now:) Still waiting for Luke Jackson to pitch unless he snuck him in when I was not looking:)
If that was Wash last night, he would not have used the double switch and he would have kept the same reliever in until he got bombed and blew the game.
Banny is not afraid to pull the plug when it looks necessary. Probably why we are 7 games above .500 and not 7 below. Banny knows how to manage a NL bench and BP. He did it masterfully last night with the exception of bringing in Tolleson. No reason other than top of the order was coming up. But Kela has been blowing away top and middle order guys all season. Maybe he is keeping Kela fresh to make him the closer in the home stretch.
Now we just need the Yankees and Astros to lose 7 straight and the Rangers win 5-7 straight:)
Hamels on the mound tonight. He has a good record and ERA in that cavernous ballpark.
Kela's role as I see it is as the fireman that puts out the flames the starter couldn't, basically 6th and 7th innings. After that it is up to Dyson, Diekman and Tolleson.
To get Tolleson some rest they need to find someone to do Kela's job so he can take over Tolleson's job for a week. I do think Kela will eventually be the closer, maybe not this year but next.

Trying to make too many changes all at once can screw you up big time. You have to concentrate on hitting what they are getting you out with so they will have to change how they pitch to you. This will lead to the pitcher making mistakes that end up over 400 feet away!!!

I don't think tinder or Libby would appreciate the Yankees losing 7 straight games they might blow a gasket.
LOL no, I don't think they would.
I see your tablet autocorrects tomder55 as tinder as my has in the past:)
Also when we get close I think we start a 2015 MLB post season thread. Might get more coming on to talk about their team. That will work in the Rangers favor as you and I both know Bannister reads our comments here:)

this is slow as crap and exceedingly hard to "Copy, cut and paste"...
I hear ya. I use my Kindle Fire sometimes at home. It's going on 3 years old now I think. It's fine for watching videos/movies and reading. But posting on a site like this is challenging. Thinking of asking 'Santa' for an iPad:)

Yeah that's a good idea there are other fans out there who will want to gloat when their team wins, especially against teams like the Yankees, Dodgers and Cardinals... 😈. LOL...

Woo hoo power just came back on, was out almost 4hrs... Went outside to whizz and when I came back inside the power was on and so was damn near every light in the house??? Guess the old lady had to try every switch in the house to convince herself the power was really out...

Ah come on. You have to give him some credit. He has about the same amount of RBIs as Beltre this year.
Then again Odor is doing better than both of them and he spent what 5 weeks in the minors. That's with a sub Mendoza line BA now he has it up to .270 or so with I think 47 RBI and 9 HRs. Making great plays too.

Tinder says the Yanks aint going to lose 7 straight. They just came off a 5-1 road trip against teams they should beat . They made it close today by playing a typical Fenway game .They proved that it don't really matter how many arms they add to the bullpen if they can't pitch .
When I entered this discussion the Yanks were 15 over 500 . Now after the dog days are over they go into the weekend 16 over . They have 10 games against the Jays and Mets ;and 16 games against teams they should beat (Ray's, O's ,White Sox, Red Sox).
Now if you could arrange for the Jays to lose 7 straight .........
BTW . The bottom of the Yankee order ;Didi and Drew have a combined 87 RBI's and should easily have 100+ by the end of the season. Not bad for guys that some say should've been replaced .
That's what the DVR is for, either that or drink enough before bed so that it will force you to get up about 3AM. That way you have an excuse for checking out the box score. That's what I did woke up at 4AM to whizz then checked the score and found they won...
Looks like they heard what I had to say about not having any heart when they get down late in the game, they've been making comebacks recently. Guess I need to keep talking bad about them to give Banny something to post on the locker room wall... :)

Considering how much he/they are making not a heck of a lot, over 30 million in salary and less that 100 RBI between them... :( :( :(
Roughie has about 150 less at bats about the same statistics and gets paid $500K, I'd take 3 Roughies any day. Besides that he stirs the pot when on the field that gets the opposition upset and off their game... :)

I have to say if they make the playoffs Bannister has to be up for manager of the year in the AL. What a turn around. However, that honor will no doubt go to Houston.

He does and we needed that.
My older son watched him bat last night and said "dad is Odor 'staring down' the pitcher, he looks intense." I said, 'yes that's what you are supposed to do.':)
