The victim, Lama al-Ghamdi

Riyadh - A prominent Saudi Arabian preacher who raped his 5-year-old daughter before torturing her to death has been spared a death sentence or even a lengthy prison term after agreeing to pay "blood money" to the slain girl's mother.

Fayhan al-Ghamdi, a former drug addict who rose to national prominence as an Islamic television preacher, was arrested last November and charged with brutally raping and torturing 5-year-old Lama al-Ghamdi to death. According to a medical report, the little girl had been tortured with whips, electric shocks and an iron. She had broken arms, a broken back and a fractured skull. She died on October 22.

According to social worker Randa al-Kaleeb, Lama had been raped "everywhere." Hospital staff told the girl's mother that her "daughter's rectum had been torn open and the abuser had attempted to burn it closed," Agence France-Presse reports.

It wasn't the first time that al-Ghamdi abused his daughter. Last April, he was accused of torturing her so badly that her skull was fractured and she sustained brain damage.

Al-Ghamdi was jailed for a short period, but the judge ruled that the prosecution could only seek to compel him to pay "blood money" to Lama's mother. That, combined with time served, led to the killer's freedom.

In Saudi Arabia, a US ally, people are executed by public beheading for apostasy (renouncing Islam), blasphemy, witchcraft, sorcery, adultery, homosexuality and prostitution. But under the strict brand of Islamic law practiced in the kingdom, men cannot be executed for killing their wives or children.

This story does not involve President Obama, who is a Christian. It shows how distorted and unjust Saudis are in terms of their legal system.

I would note too that some of the offenses they kill people for are the same you loathe people for and are highly intolerent of.

I have several top quality bicycles, and I do much more walking or riding than riding my motorcycle or driving a car.

Which is something easy to do in bicycle friendly Eugene, Oregon.

I was a bicycle mechanic in a few bicycle shops until I broke my arms in 1998 when I lost range of movement and agility in them. I also used to race bicycles when I was younger too.

The whole thing is fun,from the hunt for the car itself,to bringing it home and tearing it apart,to finding and refurbing the parts and putting it back on the road. I seem to start losing interest in them after that,though.

Still looking for a few parts for my 42 Dodge business coupe before I start tearing it apart and redoing it. I have others that are closer to being finished and drivable,but that's the one stuck on top of my lift until I can get it moving and stopping under it's own power.

You're a LIAR, Mike, and not even a good one. The only thing 'obvious' here is, you condone and excuse his un-christian deeds, you turn away from his excuses for murdering babies and innocent women and children with his assassination drones..Jesus, Mike, have you seen their pitiful little burned and mutilated bodies? There is NOTHING Christian in what this evil creature is doing to this country, and every country he targets with them. If there was a decent bone in your body that cared anything about the sanctity of LIFE, and I am sure now you don't have one, you would condemn him too, yet you defend him, WHY?

No president in my lifetime has ever publically declared war on Christianity, tearing it down, scripture by scripture, mocking Gods word and changing His word to satisfy their every perversion and dirty deeds, while at the same time, building up and glorifying to the world how wonderful the religion of Islam is, how tolerant and peaceful, ooozing tolerance and dignity than this person who calls himself, by an Islamic name, Hussein Obama.

Obama is an Abomination, a spawn of Satan himself, he's evil, vile and the most dangerous person to ever sit in our White House, and the sooner we find some way to throw him out, the better, American lives depend on it, innocent women and children targetted in foreign nations by his drones continue to die....those who look the other way, hide their eyes, deny it's happening, or those who attempt to make pathetic excuses for this evil corruption, destrustion, death and suffering, are just as evil and filthy as he it. JMHO!

Obama Releases Ad Touting His ‘Christian Faith’ & Claiming He’s Leading America ‘With Faith Values’ Nov. 4, 2012

10 Quotes By Barack Obama About Christianity

#1 "Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation"

#2 "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation."

#3 "Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is OK and that eating shellfish is an abomination? Or we could go with Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith?"

#4 "Even those who claim the Bible's inerrancy make distinctions between Scriptural edicts, sensing that some passages - the Ten Commandments, say, or a belief in Christ's divinity - are central to Christian faith, while others are more culturally specific and may be modified to accommodate modern life."

#5 "The American people intuitively understand this, which is why the majority of Catholics practice birth control and some of those opposed to gay marriage nevertheless are opposed to a Constitutional amendment to ban it. Religious leadership need not accept such wisdom in counseling their flocks, but they should recognize this wisdom in their politics."

#6 From Obama's book, The Audacity of Hope: "I am not willing to have the state deny American citizens a civil union that confers equivalent rights on such basic matters as hospital visitation or health insurance coverage simply because the people they love are of the same sex—nor am I willing to accept a reading of the Bible that considers an obscure line in Romans to be more defining of Christianity than the Sermon on the Mount."

#7 "I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell. I can't imagine that my God would allow some little Hindu kid in India who never interacts with the Christian faith to somehow burn for all eternity. That's just not part of my religious makeup."

#8 "Those opposed to abortion cannot simply invoke God’s will--they have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths."

#9 On his support for civil unions for gay couples: "If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount."

#10 "I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people."

10 Quotes By Barack Obama About Islam

#1 "Islam has always been part of America"

#2 "we will encourage more Americans to study in Muslim communities"

#3 "These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings."

#4 "America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings."

#5 "So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed"

#6 "Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality"

#7 "As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith."

#8 "I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month."

#9 "That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn't. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear."

#10 "I also know that Islam has always been a part of America's story."

I want to see the birth certificate

1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Oh,yeah. If you can't trust a politician to not lie to you are his core beliefs,who CAN you trust?

I have the feeling that won't be true for very much longer,

Given that we buy practically everything we use from China,it really doesn't make much sense to still be boycotting Cuber at this point,does it?

They sure were. Over a long period of time.

That is a bit of a contradiction isn't it. We should stop trade with Red China.

True,but what do you think the odds are of that happening at this point?

None at all, and as I stated in a previous post, it has the opposite effect. It legitimizes the regime there while failing to promote capitalism in Cuba. Open up trade with the Cuba, and within 5 years, Havana will be just like Miami Beach.

I know zero percent. Nixons trip to China might have been meant for good but it kind of turned out bad for us long term imo.

Boy that video goes back aways I noticed the Rubiks Cube in the background....

That reminds me of when I was in Pisa, Italy back in the early 80s. A bunch of us went to a restaurant in the town square right at the base of the Leaning Tower... There was this family there from Australia and when they heard us speaking English they said "Oi mates why don't you pull up a table and eat with us" (which we did)... The oldest boy had a 3X3 Rubik's Cube and would have someone mess up the colors and give it back to him... He would look at it to see the orientation of the colors then would put it under the table and solve it without looking at it again, all the while he was talking to one of us... I used to be able to solve it but not like that, I had to keep looking at it to make sure I was doing the right moves in the right order.... Nowadays I would be totally lost with that thing...

I never solved it. I used to know this one black kid in Texas that could do it in about a minute or less.

I could take it apart and solve it that way.
