(Reuters) - Former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi died of wounds suffered in his capture near his hometown of Sirte on Thursday, a senior NTC military official said. National Transitional Council official Abdel Majid Mlegta told Reuters earlier that Gaddafi was captured and wounded in both legs at dawn on Thursday as he tried to flee in a convoy which NATO warplanes attacked. "He was also hit in his head," the official said. "There was a lot of firing against his group and he died." There was no independent confirmation of his remarks.

So g.o.d. R U in charge of the Foreign Affairs dept here at LF? Isn't this the 5th time that Qaddafi's been killed? What happens when this isn't true? Why do you believe your sources? just askin' cause I don't believe shite from hillary until I see the body, and pretty much the rest of the World believes the same.
Russian media is reporting his death so I do believe he is indeed dead. MOSCOW, October 20 (RIA Novosti) Libyans celebrated the death of Muammar Gaddafi with peals of gunfire on Thursday as news broke of the dictator's death during an attack on his hometown of Sirte. Gaddafi died of his injuries near Sirte, the National Transitional Council said. The ousted dictator was reportedly captured, wounded in both legs and taken away in an ambulance. “We announce to the world that Gaddafi has died at the hands of the revolution,” Abdel Hafez Ghoga, a spokesman for the National Transitional Council, was quoted by Al Arabiya as saying. “It is a historic moment. It is the end of tyranny and dictatorship. Gaddafi has met his fate.” Al Arabiya reported that the body of the deposed Libyan leader had arrived in Misrata and said it would be allowed to film the corpse. The Aljazeera satellite TV channel quoted a doctor who examined his body in Misrata as saying Gaddafi had died of bullet wounds to the head and abdomen. News agencies showed photos of a dead Gaddafi made with a cell phone. Aljazeera TV showed the first photos of a dead Gaddafi made with a cell phone. In one photo, Gaddafi, his face covered in blood, is being dragged to a vehicle. According to some reports, Gaddafi was also hit in his head during an NTC raid on Sirte. Earlier reports said Gaddafi was captured and "critically injured." However, Al Libya, a TV channel loyal to Gaddafi, has denied the reports. Gaddafi's son Motassim was also reported killed in Sirte. We find out now if there is?....a Jamahiryah in Libya,....to the extent it was claimed on the few Libyan Resistance sites on the net. There's no doubt to the skill and endurance of some locals in Libya which held out against NATO's air campaign and the sword of some 27 nations sent mercs,special forces and opium high goons. We know NATO - Nazi's and their AFRICOM Rats lied continually and used the cover of controlled media to effect the war/conflict/genocide to the present. What will become clear in the next while is to what degree the Libyan Resistance was using similar propaganda/info.
So far....the Resistance sites hosting readership comment have been forgiving of this,....and request the Jamahiryah produce some leadership and direction/ resolve statement.
Then they were idiots....considering the reality of NATO's ability.
Maybe Daffy wants to go out in the tribal home city,......but keep your sons there too?.....not send them to far away places....where they can if need be,...dash into a neighboring nation and continue the fight.

There are several Resistance sites with posters I have followed for some weeks who are at least voicing some real concerns about the arena crowd which watched this conflict and did nothing.....to very little.
I noted this as well on some Serb blogs.....pointing out that Russia fooked around,testing some of their technology on NATO aircraft,...and went out the back door after promises made to help.
It seems like Daffy experienced the same,....both Russia and China dumped him on the curb.
No wonder Hitlery partied.....its just a matter of time when the person you fight with their hands tied behind their back goes down for the count.
If Khamis is still alive....he may give the Resistance a voice to follow.
