He says that he pays less taxes than his secretary while he has been fighting a $1 BILLION tax bill for the last ten years. You are the one who doesn't get it. I'm an old adage guy. Here is one that is very instructive in this situation: Actions speak louder than words.
I'm taking a short break from the Occupy Eugene activities we have today at the start of of the occupation here. Many of us organizers went to Portland last week to se their 24 hour field feeding operation and to go over what they are doing up there that is making this work so well in 'Little Beirut.' (Portland's real life nick name.) When I have time I'll do a thread about what we are doing and how it is going.
I've never figured out how they have managed to do that considering any "NORMAL" person can see right thru the lies!!!!

Rand Paul, Rob Portman, and John McCain (of all people) presented a pretty good jobs bill the other day. Where were Mitch McConnell and John Boehner??? They were hiding. Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, Dick Army, John Kasich... beyond that, the conservative movement within the GOP has been completely devoid of leadership. That's the problem. Where is the guy who really stands up and goes toe-to-toe with Obama and the lunatic left? Nowhere...
Great leaders have three things: 1.) A compelling vision for the future -- how we take the organization forward 2.) Great sales skills -- how we enlist the people into the vision for moving forward 3.) Enough management skills to run the organization to implement the vision, relying on great subordinates for the day-to-day operations Reagan had all three. Obama completely lacks #3. The current GOP leadership completely lacks #1 and #2. This is why the left can hold up the biggest tax cheat in the history of the world as a model for raising taxes on people that make a lousy $250,000 a year.

That's exactly right. Compare the diversity of information sources today versus when I grew up in the 1970s. There is no comparison, which is why the left is on the run. It also explains why the polls are crazy, e.g., a small majority like Obama's tax the rich policies, but a 70% majority think that he is absolutely clueless on the economy... Many people just aren't used to having this much information at their disposal, so they are confused and erratic. We are living in a transition period between a closed media and open information. Today we have both. The closed media of ABC, NBC, and CBS won't last. Economically, they are on their last legs... This is a good thing.

The GOP had it easy since the Civil War made them thee party in America, then the GOP embraced Prohibition, deregulated the economy which caused the Great Depression and thought leaving Hitler to rule in Europe and Japan in Asia was not that big a deal. After than the GOP could not get elected dog catcher and those that did get elected continued (did not dare) FDR/Democratic policies. Then the GOP get into power again with Nixon and the country is in crisis again. Carter stumbled and the American people elected Reagan. Reagan and his new GOP promised a whole lot and it sounded real sweet. Yet, 30 years later the GOP inspired polices have lowered wages for 99% of the population - not increased them as promised, exported jobs - they did not grow new jobs in America - and ran up the debt. The GOP is running on the same platform they did under Reagan - same slogans for policies that empirical evidence now shows have failed. No wonder the GOP is no longer fact / science based. A) The USA should have nationalized this company since energy independence is a national security issue. B) The amount lost in the loan is a drop in the bucket compared to how much the Republican presidency and congress lost - as in it vanished - in Iraq - spent on a war that had no national security bearing. Saving an American solar company against Chinese trade dumping is a national security issue.
