The intelligent ones admit their errors rather than double-down as Bachmann did when she defended her idiotic claim that the founders worked "tirelessly" to abolish slavery by claiming that 8 year old John Quincy Adams was a founder. There's a difference between making a mistake, and displaying a fundamental lack of knowledge. Palin claiming that Paul Revere rang bells to warn the British is an example of the latter.
