(01-12) 02:02 PST WASHINGTON, (AP) -- President Barack Obama and the first lady travel to Tucson, Ariz., this afternoon to take part in the memorial service for victims of Saturday's mass shooting. The president will speak at the University of Arizona, Tucson, at an event called "Together We Thrive: Tucson and America." Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano will also be there. The first couple will arrive back in Washington early Thursday. Before leaving for Tucson, Obama meets in the Oval Office with Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri (sahd hah-REER'-ee). They'll talk about regional issues, including Lebanon's sovereignty, independence and stability. Lebanon is seen as an important partner in America's efforts in the Middle East. WTC Flag To Be Displayed At Girl's Ariz. Funeral (01-12) 06:25 PST PHOENIX (AP) -- A U.S. flag that flew atop the World Trade Center is on its way to Arizona to be displayed at the funeral of the girl killed in Saturday's shooting spree who was born on 9/11. The Arizona Republic reports the 20-by-30-foot flag was the largest to have survived the collapse of the twin towers. Nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green was born the day the towers fell and will be laid to rest Thursday in Tucson. She and five others were killed Saturday in a shooting that wounded 13 others, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. A spokesman for the foundation that displays the flag around the country says it's with a New York firefighter who hopes to arrive Wednesday, depending on the storm in the Northeast. www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/ar...2/national/a062534S72.DTL

Your efforts to disarm the USA, by exploiting this event, will fail. Your efforts to "control" the debate, quash all dissemination of your actions, will fail. Your efforts to declare as a "terrorist" those that recognize your corruption, will fail. No. I am what I am. I know my strengths and weaknesses, and have no illusions- for good OR bad- about my capabilities. You mistake confidence and arrogance- a typical mistake made by people who don't understand. Being confident is being able to back up what you say. I won a year-long battle at my job, yesterday, against ~50 "certified" engineers, project managers and executives. $250 million dollars on the line, and I'm the only person fighting to make sure the customers aren't ripped off, by a "group-think" culture. I've been attacked on my credentials, authority, technical prowess, history and even my integrity, by two departments with a combined total of ~300 people. At the end of the day (yesterday), I won. And that means I'm protecting the customers, making sure they get what they paid for... And that we don't put anybody's life at risk. As I said before, a person who is confident, is being able to back up what you say. And I do. Hummers are for people who are insecure. The same could be said for those who drive Mercedes, BMW or even Lexus. Let me guess. You drive a BMW, right?
