NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) -- Business magnate and reality television star Donald Trump on Thursday said that he is seriously considering a run for the U.S. presidency. Trump said during ABC's Good Morning America show that he will announce his final decision next June. He initially considered entering the 2012 presidential run last October after the results of a telephone poll to test multiple 2012 Republican candidates in New Hampshire. The billionaire tycoon was among those listed.
He also said that his main reasons of his decision were the unfair trade relationship between America and China as well as the government's inability to use American top businesses in trade negotiations. He remarked the unfair currency manipulation that China is getting away with.
"I am thinking about things. And I'm looking at this country, and what's happened in terms of respect. And the respect for this country is just not there," he said. "I have many people from China that I do business with, they laugh at us. And they can't believe what they're getting away with."
Trump said that one of his first acts as president will be tackling the price of oil and taxing China, even though the United states owe a huge debt to China. The real estate magnate considers that the U.S. has the "cards on its side" despite the apparent uneven situation between the two nations.
It is not the first time that Trump considers running for president. In 1988 and 1999 he also was pointed out as a probable candidate but both times he declined at the last moment. Trump said that in both times he was not 100 percent sure as a group of people pushed him to enter the race as an independent candidate but declined.
This time, Trump said that he is more serious on his decision and also assured that if the decides to run, he would do it as a Republican. He also said that the presidential run could be fun as he intends to see some positive things happen in the U.S.
He was also questioned on his opinion of Sarah Palin who also announced her intentions to run for president in 2012. Trump said that he like Palin and called for not underestimate her. However, he said that in case he decides to run he will have no choice but to defeat her.
