83-Year-Old Grandpa Saves the Day By Pushing Suspect Off Roof
Post Date: 2017-09-16 14:50:43 by Tooconservative
No one expects an octogenarian to stop a pest, let alone one on a rooftop but dont tell 83-year-old Wilford Burgess that. After hours of a suspect walking along various rooftops in his California neighborhood, Burgess took matters into his own hands when the man got to his roof. Burgess climbed atop the roof himself and threw the man off. Police had attempted to get the man to come down, but their repeated requests were denied and it seemed the force may have been fearful to get too close to the man without knowing if he was armed and dangerous. But Burgess said he got tired of his games and pushed him off. The elderly grandfather appeared to be in good shape ...

John Deere 3033R or TYM 394 tractor/loader?
Post Date: 2017-09-01 22:13:12 by sneakypete
The first tractor I bought was too little,so I made up for that by buying one WAAAY too big the second time. Now I am trying to make up for those two mistakes by buying one that is "just right". I have it tentatively narrowed down to either a 31 HP JD 3033R with a cabin with ac and heat,or a 39 HP TYM394 with a cabin with ac and heat. Everybody knows what a JD is,but the TYM is made in South Korea by Korea's largest tractor company that has been in business for about 60 years. They have only been building tractors for export since about 2014 now,but prior to that they made a lot of "Badge" tractors for other companies as well as components. Both the JD and the ...

The SPLC's chief trial counsel Morris Dees The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a liberal, Alabama-based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization that has gained prominence on the left for its "hate group" designations, pushes millions of dollars to offshore entities as part of its business dealings, records show. Additionally, the nonprofit pays lucrative six-figure salaries to its top directors and key employees while spending little on legal services despite its stated intent of "fighting hate and bigotry" using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy. Michelle Carter, now 20, faced a maximum 20-year prison term. Her unusual prosecution was closely watched, and it occurred in a state that has no law forbidding people from encouraging suicide. A recent Lincoln Park High School graduate was ordered held on $150,000 bail Saturday in connection to a recent string of strongarm robberies in the Lakeview neighborhood. Bryce K. The pair then grabbed the proceeds, including iPhones and wallets, and fled on foot. McGill is connected to at ...

Cyclist knocked to ground in hit-and-run caught on camera
Post Date: 2017-07-10 11:57:21 by misterwhite
OK. When I first saw this, I faulted the driver of the car. Seems obvious. But then I looked again and saw a few mitigating factors. The two cyclists were going slow, side-by-side on a two lane road where the speed limit had to be at least 55.Second, this was a no-passing area (double yellow line), meaning there was no way to legally get around them. You had to go their speed -- which was crawling.Third, at the very beginning of the video, you can see a white truck which did pass by swinging well into the oncoming lane, placing himself in danger by so doing.Lastly, the second driver, who was having none of this, passed and swung back into his lane a little too quickly.Who in the f**k did ...

Former Fox News host Bill O'Reilly hinted at starting a competing network to his old home, saying Saturday that "I am starting my own operation." On his "The Spin Stops Here" tour in New York on Saturday, O'Reilly was asked if he would start a new network to counter his powerful former home. He said a "bunch of people are looking to compete with Fox because there's a perception of decline," Newsday reports: "But I am starting my own operation. Almost half of voters think journalists 'make up' anonymous sources
Post Date: 2017-03-08 14:04:11 by Tooconservative
Almost half of U.S. voters believe journalists fabricate their anonymous sources, according to a new poll. A Morning Consult/Politico survey conducted Mar. 2-6 and published Wednesday asked registered voters if they think it's "likely" that journalists "make up" anonymous sources for their stories. Most, 56 percent, either said it wasn't likely, or that they didn't know or had no opinion. But nearly half, 44 percent, said they believed it to be "likely." Republicans, who tend to harbor more distrust of the news media, were more likely to say they believed journalists made up their anonymous sources. Sixty-five percent of GOP voters said they ...

FR crashes right on schedule (60 mins before inauguration)
Post Date: 2017-01-20 11:22:48 by Hank Rearden
As expected, Jim Robinson's site has crashed this morning an hour before the swearing-in ceremony. I don't know what people expect for a measly $352,000 per year, but apparently not enough bandwidth to host a much larger than expected number of logins. A decade of this same schtick has either taught them nothing, or taught them that there's fundraising grift money in it ("Oh, woe is us - we can't afford the necessary upgrades to our Windows XP Server! And breadsticks."). Millions of dollars over the years and users still can't even go back in to correct/edit/update postings, either. What a racket, huh? Hello? Anybody out there? Happy Inauguration Day, folks.

Government Reverses Its Course on Highway Fonts
Post Date: 2016-04-11 04:16:21 by Tooconservative
Highway signs will soon get a new lookor an old one, depending on your perspective. According to CityLab, the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) recently announced they will change fonts from Clearviewa typeface designed to improve legibility for driversto Highway Gothic, a font that was developed in the 1940s and used on road signs until 2004. Font nerds and transit geeks might be the only ones who notice the switch right away. However, traffic sign design reportedly makes a big difference when it comes to safety. WNYC writes that Highway Gothic was problematic for aging drivers with poor eyes, since its letters turned into a bright blur from the reflection of ...

Post Date: 2016-03-15 09:57:46 by misterwhite
Seattle police are seeking the publics help in identifying a suspected serial masturbator who publicly pleasures himself while disguising his identity with a makeshift ninja outfit. Cops first learned of the masked pervert in January, after a woman called 911 to report that a man was masturbating outside the front door of her home. Good Grief... Charlie Brown goes to prison.
Post Date: 2015-12-08 08:06:23 by Willie Green
The man who as a child voiced the sweetly crestfallen Charlie Brown on animated television specials was sentenced in San Diego on Monday to more than four years in prison for making threats, including one against the local sheriff, authorities said. The sentencing marks the culmination of about two years of mounting legal problems for Peter Robbins, 59. He pleaded guilty last month to one count of threatening the manager of the mobile home park where he lived and one count of attempted threat for saying, while he was in jail, that he wanted to solicit the murder of San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore. A judge on Monday sentenced Robbins to four years and eight months in prison for his ...

Eugene Bostick may have officially retired about 15 years ago, but in some ways that was when his most impactful work began. Not long after, he embarked on a new career path of sorts as a train conductor for rescued stray dogs. The lively 80-year-old Fort Worth, Texas, native says he never planned on dedicating his golden years to helping needy pets. Instead, it was a duty thrust upon him by the heartlessness of others. "We live down on a dead-end street, where me and my brother have a horse barn," Bostick told The Dodo. "People sometimes come by and dump dogs out here, leaving them to starve. So, we started feeding them, letting them in, taking them to the vet ...
