Florida teen detained by TSA for design on her purse
Post Date: 2011-12-03 21:40:25 by jwpegler
It's not unusual for 17-year-old to find themselves in hot water with the fashion police. But on a flight from Virginia to Florida, Vanessa Gibbs found herself detained by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) over the appearance of her purse. And just to be clear, it wasn't the content inside the purse that the TSA objected to. No, agency officials took exception with the design of a gun on Gibbs' handbag. "It's my style, it's camouflage, it has an old western gun on it," Gibbs told News4Jax.com. Gibbs didn't run into any trouble while traveling north from Jacksonville International Airport. But on her way back home, TSA officials at Norfolk ...
Man killed by his own concealed weapon
Post Date: 2011-11-21 01:01:48 by A K A Stone
A Spotsylvania County man with a valid concealed-weapon permit died after a semi-automatic pistol without an external safety discharged as he tried to adjust the weapon, which was tucked into his waistband, investigators have concluded. The 45-year-old man was sitting in the front seat of his family's minivan in a shopping center parking lot on Sunday when his .40-caliber Glock discharged, authorities said. "For some reason, maybe for comfort, he reached out and went to adjust it," said Spotsylvania sheriff's Capt. Liz Scott. "The detective thinks that in doing so in just grabbing it he inadvertently grabbed the trigger." "This particular ...
A Way to Put a STOP To Gun Control
Post Date: 2011-11-08 04:38:41 by Coral Snake
Here ia a way I propose for all Pro Gun Congresscritters and State, County and City Legislators to put a stop to gun control. Simply amend the laws to tell the HISTORIC TRUTH about such legislation and penalize the passers of the legislation if that65 HISTORIC TRUTH happens again. Here is an example of such an amendment. Whereas, "Gun Control" legislation, even of a so called "reasonable" kind has been tied to every Genocidal action from the Native American Wars to the current genocides in East Africa including the Soviet Holodomer in the Ukraine and the Anti-Semitic Holocaust in Nazi Germany. and Whereas, "Gun Control" legislation has never reduced the rate ...
21 Submachine Guns Stolen From LAPD SWAT
Post Date: 2011-10-17 18:52:48 by Brian S
Thieves made off with 21 submachine guns and various other weapons from a Los Angeles Police Department SWAT training site last week. The 21 MP-5 submachine guns and 12 high-caliber handguns had been modified to fire only simulated rounds, but could be converted back to use live ammunition in about five minutes, according to KABC. Locks on at least three doors had been cut through to reach the weapons. The guns had been moved to a lock box in the facility Wednesday. By the time officers arrived for training Thursday, the items had been stolen. The department had only recently converted the former textile building for SWAT training purposes. Although LAPD Deputy Chief Michael Downing ...
Washington, D.C. Assault Weapons Ban Constitutional, Appeals Court Rules
Post Date: 2011-10-04 11:20:37 by Brian S
Washington, D.C.s ban on assault weapons and large-capacity magazines doesnt violate the constitutional rights of residents in the U.S. capital, a federal appeals court ruled. The U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington today also upheld registration requirements for handguns put in place after a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision in 2008 ended the citys almost total ban on firearms. The three-judge panel ordered a lower court to further review other aspects of Washingtons gun control law, such as its limits on multiple purchases. The District has carried its burden of showing a substantial relationship between the prohibition of both semi- automatic rifles and ...
Atf: Illegal To Sell Guns To Med Marijuana Users
Post Date: 2011-09-28 18:42:06 by Brian S
(09-28) 15:26 PDT Helena, Mont. (AP) -- Firearms dealers in states that allow medical marijuana can't sell guns or ammunition to registered users of the drug, a policy that marijuana and gun-rights groups say denies Second Amendment rights to individuals who are following state law. Federal law already makes it illegal for someone to possess a gun if he or she is "an unlawful user of, or addicted to" marijuana or other controlled substances. A Sept. 21 letter from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, issued in response to numerous inquiries from gun dealers, clarifies that medical marijuana patients are included in that definition. "There are no ...

SEPTEMBER 21--Angered that his Taco Bell drive-thru order failed to include hot sauce, a Missouri man returned to the fast food restaurant and allegedly pulled a shotgun on an employee, who fled in fear from the takeout window. The bizarre incident Saturday evening resulted in the arrest of Jeremy Combs, a 30-year-old convicted felon, on both state and federal charges. Combs is pictured in the below mug shot. According to a U.S. District Court complaint, investigators with the Lees Summit Police Department interviewed Combs Sunday afternoon about the incident. Combs admitted that he had purchased several items from Taco Bell, only to return home to discover the Taco Bell ...
Concealed Guns Backed by 243 in U.S. House
Post Date: 2011-09-12 13:43:22 by Brian S
Ive never touched a handgun and I havent been to Florida in decades, yet this month Florida officials mailed me a permit to carry a concealed gun. If Congress adopts a bill that the National Rifle Association is pushing, Floridas licenses would apply to 49 states in all -- allowing their holders to carry hidden guns in places such as midtown Manhattan, where the New York Police Department rejects most such applications for concealed- carry permits. Only Illinois and Washington D.C., where residents arent allowed to carry concealed handguns at all, would be exempt. Co-sponsored by more than half the members of the U.S. House, the bill requires any ...
EXCLUSIVE: Third Gun Linked to 'Fast and Furious' Identified at Border Agent's Murder Scene (SKS)
Post Date: 2011-09-09 14:39:38 by hondo68
VIDEO A third gun linked to "Operation Fast and Furious" was found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, new documents obtained exclusively by Fox News suggest, contradicting earlier assertions by federal agencies that police found only two weapons tied to the federal government's now infamous gun interdiction scandal. Sources say emails support their contention that the FBI concealed evidence to protect a confidential informant. Sources close to the Terry case say the FBI informant works inside a major Mexican cartel and provided the money to obtain the weapons used to kill Terry. Unlike the two AK-style assault weapons found at the scene, the third ...

Time to "Gun Control" the "Gun Control" States
Post Date: 2011-08-14 03:08:27 by Coral Snake
Time to "Gun Control" the "Gun Control" States (A Behind The Georgia Guidestones Special Article) By Coral Snake The gun control crowd is at it again. This time trying to build a way around the "electoral colledge" system of electing the President so they can have a perpetual lock on the Presidency and candidates for the SCOTUS in hopes of overturning the Washinton DC and Chicago SCOTUS descisions against handgun bans and bringing them bact to the table. Gun grabber governor Jerry (Moon Beam) Brown has recently signed a law in in the People's Republic of Commiefornia that gives its electoral votes not to the presidential candidate that wins the popular ...

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Tech was locked down Thursday when three children attending a summer camp said they saw a man holding what looked like a gun, an unsettling report on the campus where a 2007 massacre left 33 people dead. The university issued an alert on its website at 9:37 a.m. Thursday telling students and employees to stay inside and secure doors. (SCROLL DOWN FOR LIVE UPDATES) The children said they saw the man walking fast toward the volleyball courts, carrying what might have been a handgun covered by some type of cloth. Police swarmed the area but said they could not find a gunman matching their description. An alert on the school's website said the gunman was ...
Super Congress To Target Second Amendment
Post Date: 2011-08-01 20:34:14 by hondo68
The so-called "Super Congress" that is about to be created with the debt ceiling vote will have powers far beyond just controlling the nation's purse strings -- its authority will extend to target the second amendment -- eviscerating normal protections that prevent unconstitutional legislation from being fast-tracked into law. As the Huffington Post reported last month, the debt deal that has already been passed by the House and faces the Senate tomorrow will create an unconstitutional "Super Congress" that will be comprised of six Republicans and six Democrats and granted "extraordinary new powers" to quickly force legislation through both chambers. ...

Post Date: 2011-07-30 19:56:45 by hondo68
FORT IRWIN, Calif. Federal officials say more than two dozen firearms have been stolen from a Southern California military base. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says in a statement Friday that 26 AK-74 assault rifles and one Dragunov sniper rifle were stolen from a supply warehouse at Fort Irwin in San Bernardino County on July 15. ATF spokesman Special Agent Christian Hoffman says arrests have been made and one rifle has been recovered, but the agency is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to more arrests. Exclusive: ATF Intimidates Gun Owners With Home Visits (2 guns within 5 days)
Post Date: 2011-07-29 18:41:15 by hondo68
Even as it finds itself embroiled in a scandal that saw weapons being deliberately sent to criminal gangs in Mexico, the ATF has issued a letter ordering firearms dealers in border states to report sales of two or more semi-automatic rifles, and is following it up by harassing gun owners with intimidating home visits as well as threatening gun dealers to spy on their customers. As the Justice Department announced earlier this month, "All gun shops in four Southwest border states (Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico) will be required to alert the federal government to frequent buyers of high-powered rifles." However, what the media failed to report at the time was the most ...

Democrats try to channel scandal into gun control push
Post Date: 2011-06-16 18:31:45 by CZ82
Democrats try to channel scandal into gun control push By Jonathan Strong Faced with bracing evidence and the testimony of four ATF agents contradicting the Justice Departments initial blanket denials that assault weapons were knowingly allowed to escape into the clutches of Mexican drug cartels, Democrats tried a new approach at a hearing Wednesday. Rather than focus on questioning the GOPs investigative tactics, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee sought to subtly channel the burgeoning scandal into a push for new gun control laws. For instance, Rep. Gerry Connolly, Virginia Democrat, connected the apparently reckless investigative strategy to the National Rifle ...
#4. The 18th Century Machine Gun (was Racist)
Post Date: 2011-06-11 00:00:03 by Mad Dog
In 1718 Britain, a guy named James Puckle patented the world's first rapid fire weapon: the Defense Gun, also known as the Puckle Gun. Resembling a giant revolver on a tripod, this gun claimed to be able to fire 63 shots in seven minutes (which in modern mathematics is known as "nine shots a minute"). That may not seem like much, but when you consider that the most skilled musketeers at the time could only fire three shots a minute, it was a vast improvement. "Kills three times as many Frenchmen!" The official reason why the Puckle Gun never caught on with the British Army is that it had way too many cylinders -- like three or four. Clearly this was more ...
Consumers and Investors Seek Protection With Guns and Gold
Post Date: 2011-05-10 21:56:16 by hondo68
Laguna Beach, California -- Even after last weeks steep selloff in the commodities markets, the Flight to Safety trade is still on...big time. Gold may have retreated from its all-time high, but applications to purchase a handgun continue soaring to record levels. According to the FBI, background-check applications for handgun buyers are on a record-setting pace so far this year. In this years first quarter, Bloomberg News reports, the FBIs Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 4.25 million requests on prospective gun buyers up 16% from a year earlier. If the current pace continues, the number of gun ...

Post Date: 2011-04-28 21:46:46 by hondo68
After sharply cutting back on the number of stores that sold guns in 2006, Wal-Mart says they'll be available again in about half its stores. NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Wal-Mart said Thursday that it is bringing guns back to many of its U.S. stores in an effort to lift slumping sales. In 2006, Wal-Mart (WMT, Fortune 500), the world's largest retailer stopped selling guns in the majority of its stores, blaming slow demand for those types of firearms. Wal-Mart currently sells rifles, shotguns and ammunition in about 1,300 stores in the United States. Those firearms will now be available at about half of Wal-Mart's 4,000 stores. The retailer doesn't sell handguns in any of its ...
Police Confront Broward Judge at Gunpoint [Oops... Wrong Address...]

Confusion led to a brief encounter between an armed Broward judge and police officers on Easter. Broward Circuit Court Judge Ilona Holmes, her sister and her sisters family says they were ordered at gun point by several Broward Sheriffs Deputies on Easter Sunday to come out of her sisters home with their hands up. It was no evening of peace for the Deerfield Beach family, whod just finished dinner with friends and family, and sent extra Easter dinner to a needy family connected with their church. Then, at 8:20 p.m., police got a call about a possible burglary next door. But a bad address caused police to go to the wrong home. Do I feel safe? asked Carmita ...
Assembly OKS concealed guns for four legislators (California uber elites)
Post Date: 2011-04-09 11:54:40 by hondo68
Assembly Chief Sergeant-at-Arms Ronald Pane has given four legislators permission to carry concealed weapons in the state Capitol, according to two senior Senate staff members who have been informed of the decision. State law prohibits carrying loaded firearms and deadly weapons in public buildings, except under limited conditions. A 2010 bill by Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani, D-Livingston, tightened the law, requiring that most holders of concealed weapons permits or other gun licenses get permission from the sergeants-at-arms of the state Assembly or the state Senate in order to bring their gun in the Capitol or legislative office buildings. Peace officers are exempt from the ...
