Cops gun down man for legally carrying firearm
Post Date: 2012-06-02 09:21:26 by CZ82
Cops gun down man for legally carrying firearm by Jeff Knox Erik Scott was a West Point graduate who went on to serve honorably in the Army, get his MBA from Duke and establish a lucrative career in real estate and as a sales rep for a medical device company. He was 38 years old when he was gunned down in portico of a Las Vegas area Costco store by officers from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. While it was 7 bullets from the only people were supposed to trust with guns that snuffed out Erik Scotts life, what really killed him was an irrational fear of firearms hoplophobia. Scott and his girlfriend had been shopping in the Costco, but had been asked to leave ...
Drones Shot Down Over Texas (AJ bags an Obamabot)
Post Date: 2012-05-29 11:05:15 by hondo68
Following columnist Charles Krauthammers observation that the first person to shoot down a surveillance drone on U.S. soil will be a folk hero, gun enthusiasts in Texas have done precisely that as a protest against the use of spy drones on the American people. Using consumer drones as target practice, Alex Jones and the Steiner brothers tested out the best way to bring down the drones on the 10,000 acre Steiner ranch as part of filming for Brothers in Arms, a new show which focuses on firearms and the second amendment. With spy drones now commercially available for less than $1,000 dollars that are barely any different from the ones being used by police departments to spy ...
From Behind Bars, Randy “Duke” Cunningham Begs For The Right To Own A Gun
Post Date: 2012-05-27 22:02:06 by hondo68
Randall "Duke" Cunningham, the disgraced former congressman currently serving an eight year sentence for his involvement in one of the biggest bribery scandals in congressional history, would like his second amendment rights restored when he leaves prison so he can hunt, fish and protect himself from rabid cougars, he wrote in a letter to a federal judge this month. Unfortunately for 71-year-old Cunningham, that wouldn't happen because legislation passed during his time in Congress bans ATF from using federal funds to investigate whether felons should get their gun rights restored. In a forlorn, rambling note to the judge who sentenced him, Cunningham said he is scheduled for ...
ATF to accept public comments prior to outlawing shotguns
Post Date: 2012-05-26 22:18:21 by hondo68
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is taking a rare step of allowing public comments prior to issuing a decision on a study that could result in outlawing certain types of shotguns currently available to citizens. The ATF completed a study regarding the importability of certain shotguns. The basis for a possible ban is based on a loosely defined Sporting Purpose test. Using the vague definition almost all pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns could be banned as they are all capable of accepting a magazine, box or tube capable of holding more than 5 rounds. Other characteristics determined to be military by the ATF can also be used as a basis for a ban. ...
Odd Survival Of The Punt Gun
Post Date: 2012-05-25 01:25:11 by Mad Dog
It looks like a quaint and clumsy museum piece but it is still used by hunters in English coastal waters (14 december 1964) The punt gun is a weapon of massive size and barbarous appearance for use against ducks and other wildfowl. Mounted on the prow of a small boat, one of them can spew forth such a hail of lead balls, rusty nails and old bed springs that it might seem more suitable for cutting down Pickett's Charge than shooting up a raft of sitting canvasback ducks. So formidable a weapon is it that it was outlawed in the U.S. in 1918, and only a few specimens survive as museum pieces, relics of the days when market hunters used them for large kills and quick profits. But punt ...
Zimmerman Witnesses Stories Hurt Shooter
Post Date: 2012-05-24 10:58:49 by war
Witnesses in the Trayvon Martin case have changed their stories "in ways that may damage" George Zimmerman, according to new reports. The four witnesses, all neighbors, were interviewed multiple times by police and special prosecutors about what they saw on February 26. That was the night in which Zimmerman fatally shot Martin in Sanford, Fla. Four days after the shooting, one woman told police she "saw two guys running" and then "a fistfight ... just fists, I don't know who was hitting who." But on March 20, she told investigators she saw just one person. "I couldn't tell you if it was a man, a woman, a kid, black or white," the woman, ...
Did Zimmerman Receive Preferential Treatment By Sanford Police?
Post Date: 2012-05-24 10:51:29 by war
(CBS) ORLANDO, Fla. - A year before George Zimmerman shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin to death, he stood before a City Hall community forum and told the then-mayor elect that Sanford cops are lazy. He came to this conclusion from ride-alongs with the Sanford police, reports The Miami Herald. "And what I saw was disgusting," Zimmerman said, according to a recording of the January 2011 meeting. "The officer showed me his favorite hiding spots for taking naps, explained to me that he doesn't carry a long gun in his vehicle because, in his words, 'anything that requires a long gun requires a lot of paperwork and you're going to find me as far away from it,'" ...

40% Now Say Trayvon Martin Shot in Self-Defense; 24% Say It Was Murder [Race-Baiting Propagandists Have FAILED]
Post Date: 2012-05-22 17:13:58 by Capitalist Eric
As evidence continues to emerge from the shooting death of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, Americans are becoming more convinced that his killer acted in self-defense and that the legal system will come to that conclusion. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 24% of American Adults still believe the man who shot Martin should be found guilty of murder. But thats down from 33% in late March when the case first began to draw national headlines and 30% in early April. Forty percent (40%) now think George Zimmerman, who has been charged with second degree murder in the Martin shooting, acted in self-defense. Thats up 25 points from 15% in March and up 16 ...

Petty, anti-gun antics from the Ohio Democrat Party and its allies The well funded, anti-firearm lobby will harangue any politician by Raquel Okyay 05/08/2012 The anti-gun lobby, the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence and Democratic state officials are aiming their pointy little fingers at state Republican Rep. Margaret Conditt of Liberty Township because she plans to have an election fundraiser at Middletown Sportsmens Club on May 12. The club is a -- danger alert -- firing range, and apparently a big no-no if concerned citizens care about gun violence and young people. Firing ranges, being operated by the experts, taking the best possible precautions, are practical, effective ...

Post Date: 2012-04-27 16:50:33 by hondo68
TAMPA The City Council is adding its voice to an appeal asking Gov. Rick Scott for help clearing the way for Tampa to ban concealed weapons outside the Republican National Convention. "We believe it is necessary and prudent to take this reasonable step to prevent a potential tragedy," council member Lisa Montelione said in a letter her colleagues agreed on Thursday to send to Scott. The letter describes Tampa's dilemma it can ban squirt guns outside the convention, but not real ones carried with a concealed weapons permit as an "extraordinary circumstance." It asks Scott to consult with the Cabinet and legislative leaders on "how best to ...

The four-page affidavit of probable cause filed by Coreys office shocked legal experts, ranging from liberal Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz and liberal law blogger Jeralyn Merritt to conservative former prosecutor Andrew McCarthy and talk show host Mark Levin, among others. The affidavit starts ...
“Patriots’ Day” Crackdown in Boston: Scores Killed, Hundreds Injured as Paramilitary Extremists Riot
Post Date: 2012-04-19 15:27:11 by Anthem
BOSTON April 19 National guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed earlier today by elements of a paramilitary extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw. Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The Governor, who described the groups organizers as ...
The Right to Bear Arms is a Human Right
Post Date: 2012-04-18 19:51:34 by CZ82
The Right to Bear Arms is a Human Right At the United Nations, the governments (and the dictatorships) of the world are conspiring to deny their people a means to defend their families and their liberty. The Small Arms Treaty and the U.N.'s project on International Small Arms Control Standards seek to impose global restrictions on gun ownership that would apply to Americans and the citizens of every country that ratified the agreements. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has pledged to support the treaty, an excuse for governments everywhere to empower themselves and limit their citizens instead of the other way around. As long as we're limited to fighting over the Left's ...
NEGROES WITH GUNS
Post Date: 2012-04-18 19:50:24 by calcon
Liberals have leapt on the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Florida to push for the repeal of "stand your ground" laws and to demand tighter gun control. (MSNBC'S Karen Finney blamed "the same people who stymied gun regulation at every point.") This would be like demanding more funding for the General Services Administration after seeing how its employees blew taxpayer money on a party weekend in Las Vegas. We don't know the facts yet, but let's assume the conclusion MSNBC is leaping to is accurate: George Zimmerman stalked a small black child and murdered him in cold blood, just because he was black. If that were true, every black person in America ...
Rising Gun Sales Means The Sleeping Giant has Awoken and He is Pissed.
Post Date: 2012-04-11 14:28:24 by Capitalist Eric
The right to keep and bear arms is one of the most fundamental rights that have been a part of our heritage as Americans. When Congress passed the NDAA authorizing, the President to use the military to arrest American without charges to be held indefinably at the will of the Commander in Chief really has awoken the sleeping giant. There have been record sales in new purchases in firearms as well as ammunition. Why is there this surge in gun sales? People are seeing the obvious that the government has failed them. The courts will not apply the law to stop government abuses. Congress refuses and looks the other way when it comes to abuses of power by the President. The Police are getting ...
Lock and Load: Gun Sales Way Up, Business Booming
Post Date: 2012-04-11 14:24:13 by Capitalist Eric
It looks as though people are exercising their Second Amendment rights in a big way, and I like it. Guns are big business, people are stocking up and one Las Vegas range owner is hiring female military veterans to teach others how to shoot. But people arent ust spending money shooting at the range, in fact, gun sales have recently skyrocketed as the November 2012 elections approach. Alan Korwin, author of nine books on gun laws, including "Gun Laws of America," says gun owners are worried that the president, as a lame duck, will clamp down as never before on gun ownership. Parsons says about 40 percent of Armory customers cite this fear as their reason for stocking up on ...
Bill Cosby Blames the Gun in Trayvon Martin Case
Post Date: 2012-04-08 16:03:11 by hondo68
Actor and comedian Bill Cosby believes George Zimmermans gun is responsible for killing Trayvon Martin. When you carry a gun, you mean to harm somebody, kill somebody, the Washington Times reports Cosby as saying. He said people trying to protect their neighborhoods from crime should not be armed. Weve got to get the gun out of the hands of people who are supposed to be on neighborhood watch, he said. Since the killing, liberal elements of Congress and the establishment media have demanded the Second Amendment be rolled back and more restrictive gun laws put into place. Vice president Joe Biden said in late March that the idea that theres ...
Florida is a Pro-Second Amendment State
Post Date: 2012-04-03 13:03:34 by hondo68
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla., brought an avalanche of criticism directed at Florida's Stand Your Ground law. Yet the controversial 2005 law was just one of dozens of pro-gun laws that have gotten their start in Florida - forging the state's "Gunshine" reputation - before spreading to other parts of the country. Lobbying for passage of such laws has been the powerful National Rifle Association. "The NRA has been a victim of their own success," said Dan Gelber, a Miami Beach attorney who fought many of the gun expansion laws as a legislator in the 2000s. "They've won every big issue, so they're ...
Bill Clinton Cites Trayvon Martin in Effort to Kill Stand Your Ground (& 2nd amendment)
Post Date: 2012-04-02 20:07:04 by hondo68
Former president Bill Clinton has joined the Obama administration in exploiting the Taryvon Martin case in what is now obviously a concerted effort to roll back the Second Amendment. Bill Clinton signs Brady bill on November 30, 1993. James Brady looks on. Clinton told ABC News that Stand Your Ground Laws the right of a person to defend himself with deadly force when there is reasonable belief of a threat should be struck down. He said the American people should re-examine their position on [Stand Your Ground] and ask: Is this really worth it? Are we really all that much safer taking the chance that this kind of thing could happen over and over and over again? In ...
More Killings Called Self-Defense
Post Date: 2012-03-31 22:01:51 by lucysmom
At a time when the overall U.S. homicide rate is declining, more civilians are killing each other and claiming self-defensea trend that is most pronounced in states with new "stand your ground" laws. These laws, which grant people more leeway to attack and even kill someone who is threatening them, are attracting close scrutiny following February's controversial killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida by a neighborhood watchman. Florida has one of the broadest self-defense laws of the 25 states with some version of a "stand your ground" principle. So-called justifiable homicides nearly doubled from 2000 to 2010, the most ...
Texas lawyers offer $10,000 for George Zimmerman's legal defense (The National Association for Legal Gun Defense)
Post Date: 2012-03-31 14:31:53 by hondo68
The National Association for Legal Gun Defense wants to contribute $10,000 toward George Zimmerman's legal expenses, a member said today. The group represents gun owners involved in self-defense shooting cases, said attorney Blue Rannefeld of Fort Worth, Texas. Rannefeld said he has not been able to contact Zimmerman, 28, and is trying to reach Zimmerman's attorney, Craig Sonner of Altamonte Springs to make the group's offer of assistance. Zimmerman's shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17, on Feb. 26 in Sanford remains under investigation.
Sen. Schumer Exploits Trayvon Martin Case in Call to Outlaw “Stand Your Ground”
Post Date: 2012-03-26 17:32:31 by hondo68
Notorious gun-grabber Sen. Charles Schumer is exploiting the publicity surrounding the Trayvon Martin case to call for the feds to outlaw Stand Your Ground self-defense laws around the country. Schumer is an influential Democrat who serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Schumer wants to the Justice Department to expand an investigation into the controversial law. More than thirty states have some form of the Castle Doctrine or the Stand Your Ground law on the books. The Castle Doctrine has its roots in English common law under the dictum that an Englishmans home is his castle and the belief that deadly force may be used when a home is invaded. I am ...
